Pastor Johnson
Supt. Michael Johnson is a native of Texas and is the founding Pastor of Agape Church of God in Christ, Killeen, Texas. Supt. Johnson was born in Dallas, the eldest of five sons to the late Woodrow and Elzoria Johnson. He graduated from Panhandle State University receiving a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Arts, and a master’s degree from The University of Central Texas in Human Resource Management. He went on to work for Oncor Electric Delivery (formerly TXU) and retired on June 7, 2018, with thirty-six years and eight months as Project Management and Sr. Designer. Supt. Michael Johnson married Lady Ella Johnson thirty-nine years ago, on November 20, 1982, and to their union, they were blessed with two daughters, Colesha and Michelle.

Supt. Johnson served faithfully at Zion Temple Church of God in Christ for seventeen years. He was ordained a Deacon on September 14, 1986, under Pastor Edward R. Billie of Zion Temple COGIC. He was called to preach on July 7, 1991, under Bishop A.L. Thomas, and was a graduate of the Texas Southeast Jurisdictional School of Ministry. Supt. was ordained Elder on July 25, 1998, and was blessed to serve as an instructor for five years at the Texas Southeast Jurisdictional School of Ministry. He accepted his call to become a Pastor and the founder of Agape Church of God in Christ, on January 16, 2002 and was appointed Pastor on April 19, 2002, into the Texas Southeast Jurisdiction by Bishop A.L. Thomas. By the leading of the Lord, he moved to Texas Southwest Jurisdiction under the leadership of Bishop S.E. Iglehart on January 3, 2004. He was installed as the Superintendent of the Greater Waco District, on February 9, 2017. Pastor Johnson was appointed Jurisdictional Chaplin in 2018, and recently appointed as Administrative Assistant in Texas Southwest 2nd, Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction under the leadership of Bishop Shelton C. Rhodes.

Supt. Johnson is richly anointed to preach and teach the word of God. He is a man of integrity and great faith that stands solely on God’s word. This allowed him to lead the people of God to purchase and pay for 10 acres of land and completed the building of their new sanctuary back in 2015. He encourages his members to seek the purposes of God and to move into destiny by faith. He is an ensample and example to all, in the word and deed. In addition to his position as Pastor, he serves with the Prison Ministry, Brotherhood, and the Creative Witnessing Team at Agape. Supt. Johnson's mission is to reach the un-churched, make disciples, and exalt the Son by enriching the lives of believers with the Word of God.
